Courage, above all things, is the first quality of a warrior. The war-torn brute silently stood in his spot listening to what the darker coloured brute had to say. Escort him to their camp and he had stated his relief that the Dairimi were doing well and to be quite honest Credo had to agree with him. He did not know what he would have done if the dairimi had fallen during the harsh winter. He could have come to the Azryni and requested entry into their ranks he supposes but to be honest with himself, he did not really have it in him to pledge himself to a new pack after serving the Dairimi for so long, It just wouldn't feel right in the least.
Just then what the brute stated next brought the male out of his musing though it was not directed at him. Rather a statement directed at the silver fae who seemed to be now retreating to whatever shelter she called him."I will accompany you to your camp sire, However" Credo stopped mid-sentence looking back at the brute then back to where the fae had disappeared into her makeshift home before returning his gaze to the male before him. "I would be remised if i were to allow any harm to come to that fae, regardless of how she has acted toward you or myself." With his remark finished Credo slowly shifted his frame into motion.
Placing himself squarely between the dark colored brute and the home of the silver fae. An act that most other wolves and packs would find the strangest thing but if any wolf/pack could understand said actions, It would be the Azryni. "I say this with the utmost respect sire, But if you wish any harm upon her then you will have to get past me first" Credo stated his optics narrowing ever so slightly as his body shifted into a somewhat more defensive stance, Did he truly wish to engage the Azryni wolf before him? Heavens no but he would if Arne wished to push the matter.

The dark-colored male had to give it to her, she proved herself to be rather courageous even at the threat of several battle-hardened warriors mauling her to pieces. The Darimi warrior showed himself to be no different, outright challenging the leader if he dared to lay a claw on the silver she-wolf. However, this was his land, his orders. A low growl rumbled at the back of his throat, lips curled back to reveal rows of sharp, pointed fangs. Hackles spiked, amber eyes unflinching. Muscles bunched together under his dark pelt, then with a mighty leap he aimed for the silver wolf-
-only for him to divert at the last heartbeat, before any of the two wolves reacted. Arne skidded to a halt, his snarl turned into an amused chuckle. His fur sat flat and his tail gave a couple of friendly wags. "There will be no blood shed today," he spoke in a gentle tone, a stark opposite to what he had shown just a blink earlier. Was it a test? One could only guess. "Not on this land," he added. On the land he ruled over, and not on any that surrounded it, not on any that he knew of; and did not know of.
When that little showcase came to an end, Arne dipped his chin a little at the Darimi warrior. "Send your mentor my regards, for they have taught you well," he spoke sincerely/ "Although wolves are born with tooth and claw for a reason, said reason is not for killing 0ther wolves." Then he faced the she-wolf, giving her a flick of his tail. This needed a different approach. Far different approach. "I hate leaving tasks unfinished," he concluded with a sigh and a shake of the head.
"Warrior," he addressed the Darimi wolf yet again, "a group of warriors will escort you to camp, I will be there shortly. Pardon me for such measures, albeit there are still duties I need to attend to." As soon as he uttered the last syllable, a patrol of Azryni wolves emerged from the nearby shrubbery, beckoning the newcomer to follow them with curt nods. As for Arne, he approached the she-wolf, walking perhaps a little too close to her comfort zone.
"What binds you to this land, if you don't mind me asking?" he queried softly.

Courage, above all things, is the first quality of a warrior. Credo watched as the scene unfolded before him and honestly it seemed to take a turn for the worst as the dark pelted brute lunged toward the silver fae, but much to his relief it was nothing more than a bluff. Seeing this credo allowed his frame to relax shifting back into a neutral stance as he listened to what the darker brute had to say. His tail slowly swaying back and forth contently behind himself as he did so.
"There will be no bloodshed today, Not on this land."
"I'm pleased to hear that sire." Credo once again dipped his head in a show of respect, Was he truly a match for the darker brute who could say really, they seemed to be equal in size but the one thing he did not know was, How much combat experience the Azryni Alpha actually had and he for one was not eager to find out. Especially since his mentors had sent him here on a relief mission not to engage the respected Alpha on the field of battle. His auds twitched a bit picking up the tone of the darker brute once more.
"Send your mentor my regards, for they have taught you well"
The war-torn brute simply nodded his head. "Thank you Sire, I will" He remarked a soft smile forming upon his maw as he fell silent listening to what the Alpha had to say and to be completely honest he had to agree with every word, Simply because wolves were born with the ability to kill anyone they so choose. Did not grant them the right to do so, there had to be some restraint otherwise they would be nothing more than mindless beasts, like a certain pack that comes to mind the Seriss.
"Warrior,a group of warriors will escort you to camp, I will be there shortly. Pardon me for such measures, albeit there are still duties I need to attend to."
Credo dipped his head respectfully tho no response was coming from the white pelted brute this time. There was no need for one as his optics scanned the tree line easily picking up three figures in the distance. The aforementioned warriors he assumed after all a breeze swept through the area bringing along with it their scents which only served to confirm their identities as Azryni, So without another word Credo gathered up the fresh kill and herbs before making his way over to the warriors. Giving one final glance back to the scene and then headed off with the warriors leaving the Azryni Alpha alone with the Loner fae. Confident no harm would come to her now.

There seemed to be a lot of commotion going on outside of her little makeshift home. Not that Sierra paid it any heed after all she had already stated her piece and there was little chance that they would be able to change her mind. That was until there was a dull thud like one of them had lunged at the other but by the time the she wolf bothered to check out what was going on. It seemed to be all settled as she poked her head out of her makeshift home her 'savior' seemed to be trotting off someplace with some wolves that reeked of the same scent as the brute that had first confronted her.Speaking of the devil it seemed he was still her as his tone reached her ears.
"What binds you to this land, if you don't mind me asking?"
"Actually i do mind but if you must know, Nothing binds me to these lands it is just they were the calmest around." Sierra remarked adding a huff at the end showing just how annoyed she was at the question. She lowered her frame to the ground in the entrance of her makeshift home, her optics firmly locked on the brute in front of her."That was until you showed up and stuck your entitled nose in my business" She added with a bit of venom in her tone.
"Why does it bother you so much that i'm here hm? And don't give me all that malarkey about needing to protect your food supply or whatever you were spouting about before" Her tone flowed out a bit softer than before but not by much. She seemed far more confident than she was before, maybe that is due to the fact that she felt safe in the knowledge that he could no longer get behind her?. Maybe but it did not change the fact that he had his work cut out for him if he was to convince her to give up her home.

A wave of relief washed over the dark-pelted leader as soon as the group of warriors departed alongside the Darimi warrior. One task done, it seemed. He would exchange words and other diplomatic formalities with the white male when he concluded the predicament at the borders. Speaking of which, the silver she-wolf looked more annoyed than anything else, regardless of the fact that a bloodshed had almost occurred in her name. Not that Arne could hold that against her, as she probably did not understand the ancient traditions and customs of the pack, likewise how he did not comprehend the life of a loner; one of the main reasons why he outright refuted to consider convincing her to join the pack.
In response to her question, Arne tilted his head a little, uncertain whether he should take that as a compliment or not. Indeed, the land of the Azryni was rather peaceful, much to its own detriment, perhaps.
"I'm afraid I have to correct you, traveler," he spoke with an air of tranquility wafting around him, despite what had just occurred. "You are sticking your nose into my pack's business by staying and hunting here." Although he could repeat his speech about the Azryni's way of life and whatnot, even the she-wolf had to admit that when it boiled down to the basic premises, they were here first.
He sat down, resting his tail alongside his hindquarters. "We were here first," he voiced out his recent thoughts, "we have been living in this land for generations. These are the hunting grounds of our ancestors, and they belong to us now; just like they will one day belong to our pups and their pups." And unless some devastating natural disaster struck the territories, Arne couldn't picture his pack - or any of the others - moving to a different area. This was their land, their home.
"You have no reason to be here. You have no pups to take care of," he continued, internally admitting that he would be much more lenient towards the she-wolf if she were nursing a litter of pups. That would've been a completely different scenario. "There are several hunting grounds that belong to no pack-wolf, and yet you are risking your life by staying close to our borders."

After a few heart beats passed the Alpha returned his attention to her, Great... Sierra thought as she listened to what the male had to say and honestly for the first time since he had arrived she found herself actually agreeing with the brute. The Azryni had been here long before she arrived so they did have a 'right' to the lands. At least they believed they did but it was clear that she was not going to change his mind regarding that.
It was also true that she didn't have any pups to take care of. Which was a blessing if you were to ask her. There was nothing really tying her to these lands other than the fact that they suited what she needed, which was a nice quiet place to live without having to constantly be looking over your shoulder for any impending threats. It was vastly different compared to the lands of the wilds where the loners would often attack each other over scraps or heck even the lands of the Seriss in which you could be killed for just looking at a wolf the wrong way. All of this she could agree with the brute on that was until he said....
"There are several hunting grounds that belong to no pack-wolf, and yet you are risking your life by staying close to our borders."
Her eyes instantly narrowed, her lips pulled back revealing her pearly white teeth." Is that a threat?, Am i suppose to be afraid of the 'Great' Arne and the Azryni now hm?" She snapped, It was unclear if he had actually meant it as a threat but that's how she took it. slowly rising to her paws her eyes never leaving the brute for even a second."You are correct there are hunting lands outside your 'precious' pack lands but tell me, when is the last time you even bothered to venture out there hm? Prey may be plentiful in your lands but outside it, we loners have to hunt for days just for a decent meal, that's IF another loner doesn't come along and try to steal it from you!" Sierra shouted at the brute, a sudden rage in her eyes but if one took a moment to think on it, they would be able to tell this sudden anger was not aimed at the brute before her, well not directly. In fact One would notice the moisture forming under her eyes as she stared the brute down.

"You should fear the Seriss and their leader Kaija, if you're so keen on being afraid of the pack-wolves," Arne responded without a deeper thought, his voice still ever so calm and ever so collected; leaving one only wonder whether he was trying to tease the she-wolf or form a proper counterargument. Whatever it was, the point still stood: if she were to fear any of the local packs, Seriss would be the one right on the list. Those cold-hearted beasts never hesitated to slay those who opposed them, leaving nothing but wrath and carnage in their wake. Even Arne harbored great respect for the pack's fighting abilities, even though their moral ethics - or lack thereof - left a bitter taste in his mouth. Their sheer bloodlust was something he had been actively advocating against.
"If you had showed up on their territory with that attitude, you would've had your throat slit," he stated with a speck of concern lacing his tone. There was no doubt in the argument: she would've been hunting with her ancestors if she had settled in Kaija's territory instead of his. Not a soul in that pack had a smidge of patience to deal with a loner like her. Therefore, she could be glad that she had ended up in the territory of the Azryni, wolves with enough patience to explain to her what she had been doing wrong.
"In a way, I'm glad that your pawsteps have led you here," he admitted and shook his head a little. The thought of the silver she-wolf being mercilessly slaughtered as soon as she was scented on the other pack's territory almost made his hackles bristle with apprehension, fortunately his iron-like self-control was once again working wonders.
A gentle sigh flew past his parted jaws, followed by Arne eyeing the female again. "To answer your question, the last time I ventured out of this territory was just last night: one of my scouts wanted me to oversee several scent trails converging outside of our land. Prey is plentiful just a few hills over this territory; I'm sure you can keep yourself fed if you know how to hunt." Not that she cared about that tiny detail about his dutiful journeys, but it felt nice to prove her wrong. "I myself lived as a loner for a portion of my life and I never had to worry about going to sleep with an empty belly," he added. Not that he was attempting to question her hunting skills, quite the opposite.
"I purposefully stayed away from pack territories, as even if I encountered another loner on neutral lands, I knew it would be a fair fight most of the time. If you stay on pack-land, you are guaranteed to always be outnumbered."

The silver fae simply sighed listening to what the brute had to say, Her head dipping down as it dawned on her just how much of a royal pain she had been but still this land has been all she has known for the longest time. She was not about to allow some brute to run her off of it so easily as she shook her head looking back up at the male with renewed determination in her optics. "Look i know what you are trying to do and really i appropriate it but in my eyes all you pack wolves are the same" She remarked coldly "But..." Sierra paused slowly rising her frame from its seated position.
"There is nothing you can tell me about the Seriss that i do not already know...I did not always travel alone you know.." Her tone trailed off as she slowly made her way over to the brute, stopping mere inches away from him. The pain clear in her optics but still a soft growl worked its way up her throat. "I lost my mate to those savages, I managed to flee here, to make a life here and you show up thinking you know what's best for me" She took a step or two back away from the brute before turning in the direction to leave his 'beloved' lands. caught up in her anger and pain though Sierra did not realize that she was facing directly toward the lands of the Seriss.
"You want me gone, So be it" Without waiting for a response the silver famora broke out into a dead run, shaking her head as she did so in an attempt to fight back the tears that were forming under her eyes. Would he follow? She did not know nor did she even care, Hell if he did there was a good chance that she would lash out at him.

Just as soon as he expected the silver she-wolf to retaliate to his words, her attitude changed ever so suddenly. No further questioning of his lifestyle as a pack-wolf, no more arguments about her staying here even if she had to fight off the rest of the world alone. The Azryni wolf's ears perked, the tip of his tongue twitching momentarily with statements left unspoken. She mentioned the Seriss, and Arne's golden eyes colored with sympathy and understanding. He had come to know their terror, the sharpness of their claws and fangs. Although the Azryni and Seriss had not met in an open conflict since the start of his leadership, solely their battle-hungry personalities had proven to be rather troublesome.
"I'm truly sorry to hear about your loss—" Arne uttered upon hearing about her mate's unfortunate fate, but she turned on her paw and fled before he even managed to finish the rest of his sentence. She ran away, leaving him alone on the borders. For a fleeting heartbeat, he watched the spot where she used to stand, a strange emptiness settling deep in his chest. He managed to chase a loner off his pack's land, and yet he felt no joy, no triumph in that realization.
A hollow victory, to say the least.
Arne, too, glanced aside, about to return back to camp. That Darimi youngster was waiting for him, after all. However, something pulled him back, something convinced him to follow the she-wolf's pawsteps. Just for a moment, he would simply make sure that she had left for good; and that she had stayed away from the territory of the Seriss.

The silver fae slowed her pace once she was a decent distance away from the brute but only slightly. After all she was not about to stay in a territory that she was not welcomed in. A funny thought given the direction she was currently heading in would lead her deep into some of the most dangerous territory throughout the lands, The territory of the Seriss, Of whom were well known for their dislike of loners in fact it was well known that most loners were killed on sight in those lands.
Her pace s came to a halt for a brief moment as the famora shifted her crown around looking over her shoulder. Looking in the direction of the brute she had left in the dust, Perhaps she had been a bit too harsh with her final words to him and for a fleeting moment Sierra actually found herself pondering wither or not she should return and apologize to him but that thought was quickly dismissed with a shake of her head.
Instead of turning around, the fae returned her gaze to the path that was laid out before her. A mere few feet away was the scent border that separated the lands of the Azryni from the lands belonging to the Seriss.
