Of course, Sibylla didn't expect that the large male would lend a paw and help the medics in treating aching joints and checking pelts for ticks. It was simply... her very weird attempt at socializing! Yeah, it was just that! On the other paw, one would assume that she should probably stay several foxtails away from the dark wolf, given her questionable record of offering help to outsiders and begging the different packs for herbs and poultices.
Much to her surprise, however, the alpha male took the remark rather well, taking it as the friendly poke it should've been perceived as. Wait, was that actual humor in his voice? The genuine, kind-hearted one? The one that had nothing to do with ripped throats and pools of blood? Sibylla didn't know and she doubted she had the guts to check. She had been tempting fate for a long time in this conversation already, no need to tempt it any more. Or she could be the one to end up with a ripped throat. Therefore, all she emitted was a gentle chuckle in response, then she lowered her muzzle to pick up some chervil she had discovered.
With great care, the white she-wolf plucked a couple of stems, purposefully leaving some behind so that the plant would have a chance to recover and regrow. Then, she rested her catch on the dry ground, covering it with a small rock to hold it in place.
When he called her, Sibylla's ears perked with curiosity. No wait, was he actually trying to help? The gods must have been merciful to her today. With interest and intrigue, she trotted to the decaying log, giving the patch of herbs an attentive look. Indeed, the blooms were light blue in color and fragile-looking. However, there was no mistaking the distinct scent overflowing her nostrils.
"Rosemary," she explained quietly, "that can also be used in medicine. Headaches, helping to ease stress..." She gave the flowers a nudge. "It is also rubbed on dead bodies to hide their scent..." the healer added grimly. As far as she knew, the Azryni liked to use rosemary to stimulate hair grow, albeit she refrained from mentioning it. She didn't like the idea of having to explain how she got the trivial information in the first place!
Sibylla then took some of the find before scurrying off to put it alongside the chervil. "Not what I was looking for, but pretty good for your first herb search," she added.

The cruel hearted brute turned his attention to the fae as his healer trotted over to inspect that he had found. Unfortunately it would seem that the plant was not the one she was looking for after all, A annoyed yet soft snarl would escape the brute's lips despite the healer's kind words. Kaija was not accustomed to failure, whatever he set his mind to usually ended up successful but apparently not this time. The only saving grace was the fact that the plant he had found didn't seem entirely useless. The healer attempted to explain its uses but he had no interest in it at all. though he did keep a watchful eye on her as she trotted off to place it among the other herbs that had been gathered thus far.
Just when Kaija beginning to believe that he could drop his guard for a bit since it seemed that it was just hm and his healer in the area, A new scent hit his nostrils bringing with it a sharp sense of danger, The scent did not belong to a fellow canid but rather a feline, a cougar to be exact. Now normally against a pack a cougar would not stand a chance but his pack was not here, it was just him and his healer who did not have much combat experience. His optics instantly started to scan the dead landscape trying to spot the threat, all the while he moved closer to his healer. After all if the cougar came launched its attack at her instead of him while he was still a good distance away he would not be able to respond in time to prevent her from getting hurt.
"Sibylla, Do you smell that?" Kaija remarked in a rather serious yet not demanding tone, It was not his goal to panic the fae but rather to draw her attention to the possible danger. His attention never once turned to her however as he was too busy scanning the landscape trying to locate the source of the scent.

Although she caught waves of frustration radiating from the behemoth, Sibylla refrained from addressing them. She had already shared her viewpoint already: it wasn't what she'd been looking for, but it was a find nevertheless. It was something. It could be used in medicine. As for the missing lungwort, well... To claim that she was pleased would be a great lie. She still needed to restock on the healing plant, whether she liked it or not - whether she needed it right now or not. On the other paw, to call this trip a complete failure would be unfair immensely. They had managed to discover something.
As for the sickly pup, maybe she could find an alternative cure if she scraped the very bottom of her herb stock, or look for a different plant altogether. Perhaps she could stumble upon a patch of chickweed or coltsfoot if she took the longer path back to camp...
Or maybe not, because as soon as she started to plan more foraging trips, a sharp scent of a mountain lion slammed her in the nose, immediately making her hackles spike out in alarm. If she had been alone, she would've taken that as a cue to turn tail and flee. Maybe not a skilled warrior, her lanky legs and a slim frame never betrayed her. If the situation called for it, she could outrun most wild predators - or squeeze into a nearby crevice and wait for the hunting wolf-eater to grow tired (or bored) and leave. But alas, she was not alone.
"I do," she agreed, "do you want to leave?" Or would he muster enough foolish bravery to challenge the creature? Well, if he did so, Sibylla would be of no use. She did have herbs that could be used for treating injuries on paw, however. The chervil could be rubbed into fresh wounds to prevent an infection from settling in, and the rosemary could ease the pain. Not that she was eager to lose the new herbs on pointless wounds, but if it needed to be done.
Sibylla simply gathered her finds into a neat wad tied together with a few dry stems, and waited for him to decide.

"I do, do you want to leave?"
Kaija finally turned his attention to his healer for a brief moment. "There is no need to leave just yet, Continue your search just be on guard." He remarked before turning away from the fae once more. Lifting his maw skyward in an attempt to catch a better scent from the creature. Hopefully one that would point him in the right direction but alas the winds had picked up considerably scattering what scent there was across the land. Making it almost impossible to pinpoint the feline at this point. With a frustrated snarl the brute made his way back to the rocky outcropping. It was his hope that the heightened view would give him a better chance at spotting the approaching foe before anything could happen.
Though that did not seem to be the case unfortunately, while it did help aid in gathering more of the feline's scent. It did not reveal the creature's location so all the brute could do was wait and hope that the danger would pass without any harm to him or his healer.Speaking of his company his attention shifted back down to her for the briefest of moment to ensure that she was still there, of course she was after all Sibylla was more loyal than most in his pack, A fact that ressured yet disturbed the brute at the same time. For you see she was not born of the Seriss thus had more reasons then most to turn on him and leave him for dead.
"I guess the winter did not just take a toll on us, it seems it is a desperate time for all creatures of this land." Kaija remarked trying his best to break the silence while also reassuring his healer that he was indeed still in the area and had not left her to fend for herself.

The lead wolf didn't seem to be in a hurry to leave just yet, unafraid of the prowling mountain lion and the damage it could do to both of them. If she had been on her own, she probably would have turned tail and fled already. Or perhaps not, since the healing herb had yet to be gathered, and Sibylla was starting to doubt that the young pup's cough would just go away with a please. Managing the symptoms with nothing but feverfew and pray that it would simply get better on its own didn't seem like a favored scenario. An adult could manage, but a small, sickly pup? Even the most optimistic of canines would be plagued with uncertainty.
She needed to get her paws on lungwort, as soon as possible. With that thought burning in her mind, Sibylla strayed away from her leader, somewhat determined to scour this landscape from the brittlest of stems to the pointiest of rocks. Much to her surprise, a faint scent of it started to tickle her nostrils, luring her closer and closer like a moth drawn to a flame. Something else grew stronger with each pawstep she took, however. The cougar, it must have been scouting for possible prey trails. The healer's pace slowed down, caution and eagerness mercilessly clashing in the depths of her chest.
The lurking predator came into view, just among a rocky outcrop. A massive creature covered in short, brown fur, its long tail slithering from one corner to another akin to a snake. And there it was, a patch of lungwort a mere foxtail away from its enormous clawed paw. Was it worth the risk? She knew the answer. It was for her patient, it would always be worth the risk. Always.
Without a deeper thought, Sibylla leaped from her hiding spot and charged for the herb, snipping it at the roots. The cougar whipped around with a deafening yowl, startled by the she-wolf's sudden appearance. The healer let out a low growl, tufts of fur spiking on her back. She didn't wait for an attack, instead she turned on her paw and bolted away, the herb dangling from her jaws.

It was not long before he watched as Sibylla went on about her search, prompting the male to return to his own mission which was to locate the feline that had caused such alarm. The creature in question's scent had grown stronger which could have only meant that the beast had gotten closer to them. Meaning kaija no longer had the luxury of scouting for the feline from his look out upon the rock. His frame shifted into motion and with one graceful leap the merciless brute removed himself from the outcropping, his optics once more scanning across the landscape in search of the feline but it would seem that he was a bit to slow in his search for a few moments later. A unmistakable yowl could be heard prompting the brute's head to snap in that direction.
Now this is usually when a normal Alpha would be fearing for the safety of their pack member. But not Kaija who was certain that his healer was not foolish enough to try and engage the cougar in a one on one fight. Even with this assumption in mind the scene that unfolded before his optics left the brute a little stunned as he watched his healer come barreling toward him with something dangling from her maw. Which he could only assume was the herb that she had been hell bent on finding but finding out if that was the case would have to wait because hot on her tail was none other than the cougar, Its eyes firmly locked on his healer. A fact that caused a savage snarl of his own to work its way up the brute's throat as his hackles raised up and his lips curled back revealing his razor sharp teeth.
Without waiting for another moment, Kaija bolted from his position, heading directly for his healer and her pursuer. With only seconds to spare before he collided with his healer did the brute brace then launch himself with all his might, sending himself soaring over his pack member before landing directly in the patch of the on-coming feline, raising his tail up in a show of dominance as the feline scrambled to slide to a halt at the sudden appearance of the male wolf before it. Was this out of fear? Hardly for once the feline grasped what was going on, A standoff ensued with both wolf and cougar exchanging savage snarls.

t times, when Medusa grew bored of the monotony of Seriss territory, she’d wander. She’d go past the borders of her pack’s lands and deep into the heart of unclaimed regions, fancifully imagining that she was free to roam endlessly as she pleased. It was just a whimsical thought, of course; at the end of the day, her paws would steer her right back home, unable to abandon the vice-like grip that its select few occupants had on her loyalties. But in the moment, she would lope and run and damn-near frolic until it was time for her to return.
She took great pleasure in menacing the local fauna, whether it be rodents or stags or even other wolves. She’d snap her jaws manically and aimlessly, simply for the glee of seeing a flinch of fear or a bone-deep wariness in their eyes. Her haunt through the barren lands hadn’t produced such luck, though, the miles of territory just as its name claimed: barren as far as the eye could see. She could pick up on signs of life some distance away, a fleeting scent or the rustle of undergrowth underfoot, but that would require actual tracking, an endeavor that she had no patience for today.
Her directionless ambling was brought short by a sudden, piercing yowl; Medusa paused, deathly still as she took a few moments to listen. It was soon followed by a low, unfamiliar growl; unfamiliar simply for the fact that she had yet to hear Sibylla produce such a sound. The snarls that came after, though… what the hell was Kaija and their healer doing so far outside of pack lands? An illicit rendezvous? A romantic tryst? She chuckled wildly at the thought even as she ran to meet them, choked giggles turning into full-blown laughter as she imagined such a thing being interrupted by a cougar. Eddie knew that such a thing wasn’t likely, but it was still hilarious to imagine, and it was with that same wide grin that she burst onto the scene.
Sibylla was darting away with a few of her weeds clutched in her jaws. Meanwhile, Kaija and the cougar were snarling and sizing one another up, both seemingly unwilling to back down. She knew what role she had to play; no matter how strong an individual was, there was a reason they were pack animals, and no single lupine would ever scare off one of the great cats on their lonesome. With a series of hyena-like cackles, the black-furred female circled to the rear of the cougar, maw parted to bare rows of ivory teeth as she aimed to snap at the vicious feline’s tail. She released it almost immediately, the goal being to merely distract the cat rather than truly deal it a debilitating blow. Kaija Sibylla ISHY of THQ & ADOXOGRAPHY

The Seriss healer skidded to a halt, leaving a faint cloud of dust in her wake, as soon as her leader leaped past her, likely aiming for the mountain lion that had decided to give chase. Her assumptions were proven correct the moment she glanced over her shoulder, noticing Kaija and the massive kitty-cat locked in a mutual stare down, perhaps waiting who would win the impromptu stare challenge. Sibylla's bets were on the cougar, since she believed that her superior had been doing nothing but vividly imagining biting that beast's tail off. Oi, here comes someone biting that thin vine! Oh, wait, that was just Medusa, one of the pack's surviving warriors, joining in on the fun.
Great, the more the merrier. Sibylla didn't know whether she should be terrified or glad that she had not one but two henchmen fighting for her honor and safety. All for the sake of a wad of herbs she needed to cure a sick puppy. Was it even worth the trouble? Well, she would've managed on her own just fine. She had been in this situation more than once, but if she told her leader that, she would be the one losing her tail today!
Enough moral dilemma though! For a heartbeat, Sibylla simply wondered what would be her consequences for turning paw and skiddadling the hell out of here, leaving her two pack-mates to deal with the cougar on their own. Maybe a rather selfish move at first glance, but one had to keep in mind that those were Seriss wolves, those loved beating the living crowfood out of anything non-Seriss, oversized cats included! Maybe if she tried to lend them a paw, they would get mad at her for ruining the thrill. In the end, she shook her head, however.
She was not willing to waste her thinning herb stock on pointless skirmishes like these!
As soon as Medusa let go of the tail, Sibylla pounced nearby the cougar, swiftly pawing at the ground and sending a wave of coarse sand, small rocks and other debris flying directly into the beast's eyes, hoping to momentarily blind it.

Locked into a staring contest with the beast before him the brute was unable to turn and see if his healer had bothered to stick around to aid her Alpha in the possible upcoming fight. Not that he had any reason to believe that she would indeed abandon him after all while she was not a fighter Sibylla was nothing if not loyal to him and the pack so of course she would stick around to make sure her Alpha survived the encounter as well. Under his fur his muscles tensed up ready to repel any attack that the feline was sure to launch against him but then the situation seemed to change at a rapid pace, First a new scent entered the area, One he instantly recognized belonging to none other than the warrior fae known as Medusa. To be honest he was not sure why she was in the barren lands but at this point he was not going to question gaining even more backup to uneven the odds against the feline a bit more.
It was not long before Medusa started to do her thing biting at the feline's tail which provided a distraction thus creating the perfect opening for an attack but before the brute could even budge from his spot. Much to his surprise the healer leapt into action, Using the ground to attack the beast's eyes which he could only assume that she was hopefully blind the creature which given the pained snarl that emitted from the feline he would assume that she was successful at doing just that. So while the cougar was busy shaking its head from side to side as well as pawing at its face in an attempt to restore its vision. Now it was his turn to land a blow, with a deep rumbling growl Kaija dug his claws into the terrain for just a moment before darting forward, Slamming his bulky frame into the side of the feline which yowled in protest before slamming it into a nearby boulder. Stepping back a moment later the cruel brute looked down at the big cat that had threatened his healer.
But before he could even think about dealing the killing blow, A sound rang out from the same direction that his healer and the big cat had come from. Another angry Yowl to be exact prompting the Alpha's head to snap in that direction,A savage growl emitting from his lips. There is another one?!, Kaija thought before it dawned on the brute. It must be the mate of the one on the ground by his mighty paws. One cougar was bad news even for three wolves but two cougars? That was too much even for most packs to handle. So as much as he regretted the orders he was about to speak, the words had to be said."Sibylla, Medusa, It's time for us to make our retreat, Back to the pack lands both of you" Kaija stated in a very demanding tone, before moving to stand guard as if waiting for the second threat to reveal itself.
